1. Tell us a little about yourself!
Hi!! My name is Sara and I’m a stay at home mom at the moment. So I have a lot of time to read, and get to know all different kinds of Authors, book readers/reviewers!

2. What inspired you/caused you to start your book blog?
I would have to say my sister. I was posting on my personal page at first, and she called me up one day saying “How come you don’t post any pictures of the girls anymore?” LOL so I decided to make my own page and see how it goes from there.

3. What is your favorite part of running one?
Well my page is kind of new, so I would just have to say that I enjoy posting the Free books 🙂 Who doesn’t like free books?

4. What’s your favorite place and time to read? At home in bed at 2am? Out and about at a coffee shop?
I take my Kindle with me everywhere! So any where I have the time.

5. Favorite book of all time?
That is a hard question. I could not name just one book of all time LOL.

6. Do you prefer a bunch of quick, sweet stand-alone reads or a long drawn out series of epic proportions?
I like both kinds. It just depends on the story.

7. Last book you read and how did you rate it?
I just finished TORCH by Cambria Hebert. And if I could have I would have rated it a 10! It is a really good read.

8. Aside from reading, what else do you do with your time? Or, like us, do things book-related pretty much sum up your life?
I’m usually always with my family. My husband and 2 daughters, and we spend a lot of time out playing around down at the creek somewhere.

9. If you could meet any author, who would it be?
That is another hard question…..hmm…Tara Brown! I just love her and all her books.

10. When we say favorite book cover, what’s the first one to come to mind – since we know there probably can’t be just one?
Playing Patience by Tabatha Vargo

11. What was the series in childhood that got you hooked on reading?
The Goosebumps Series

12. Do you always read several books at once, or just stick to one at a time?
I like to read just one at a time….but sometimes I have to read a couple at a time, to get them done in time 🙂

1. Tell us a little about yourself!
Nadine: Hey there, my name is Nadine, I am 27 years old and live in crazy San Francisco. I joined Hook Me Up Book Blog early June this year and love it so far. Well besides the obvious that I love reading, I also love anything tattoo related. I’ve several tattoos and have a very weak spot for tattooed guys 😉 I’m coffee and movie addict, yep; without coffee I wouldn’t be able to function. What else, mmh lets see… oh yeah I’m originally from Germany but moved to the U.S. 5 years ago and am now studying, getting my Bachelor in English-Literature, because I really really want to become a book editor. Guess that’s it about me 😉
Tamara: Hello! I live in Brisbane, Australia with my teenage daughter.  I have always loved reading but became seriously addicted when I discovered indie books and being able to buy them at all times of the day thanks to ebooks just fueled this addiction!  I am currently studying psychology and in my spare time work on my own book – this is a dream I have always had and love the opportunity to self publish that now exists.

2. What inspired you/caused you to start your book blog?
Nadine: Tamara started the blog; we were friends on GoodReads (bless this site) already and she just asked me out of the blue if I’d like to join and of course I said yes.
Tamara: I wanted to help indie authors promote themselves.  Not many of my friends read indie books or even seem to know they exist so I was sharing books on my facebook page and thought why not set up a blog and broadcast my love of these authors and books to a wider base!  I also wanted to meet other readers who are as addicted as I am because I truly think that my friends were sick of hearing me talk about books they had never heard of 😉

3. What is your favorite part of running one?
Nadine: Sharing great new books/reviews with people. I love giving recommendations.
Tamara: I love the community that we are building.  Our blog has been going for about three months or so and we are starting to get to know many of our readers, sharing recommendations back and forth and I love that!  I love the friendship I now have with Nadine thanks to the blog.  I also ADORE meeting and working with authors and watching them succeed.

4. What’s your favorite place and time to read? At home in bed at 2am? Out and about at a coffee shop?
Nadine: Actually I carry my kindle everywhere lol… So I can sneak in some reading time wherever I am. But I prefer reading at home cause some people in public are very annoying and they would only distract me from my current book crush. I’ve no preferred reading time though, anytime is good for me.
Tamara: Well, I seem to do most of my reading in the wee hours lately but I really love it when I have a Saturday or Sunday morning with nothing to do but stay in bed late and read.

5. Kindle or regular book? How did you feel about the Kindle to book transition? Did you fight it at first or dive right in?
Nadine: Kindle; it’s lighter to carry around plus I collect certain books (from my favorite authors and wouldn’t like to bend the pages-yes I’m crazy like that). I liked the transition because I think not everyone can buy/carry the books with them. Good example is me, I’m still international student, I could have never bought all the books in paperback cause maybe, who knows, I’ve to leave back home and then I’d be really screwed carrying/packing 100 of books with me. Kind of ridiculous, right? So yes I welcomed e-readers.
Tamara: Kindle all the way baby!  But oh man, I fought it!  When I first started reading on my iPhone it was only free books.  I mean, who was going to pay money for a book that they couldn’t put on their shelf and display to the world that they owned it??  Then one night I decided that I NEEDED to read the sample chapters of Fifty Shades to see what all the fuss was so I dragged my iPad out and when I got to the end of those chapters I NEEDED to keep reading so damn it I gave in and bought the trilogy – yes, after refusing to pay a cent for an ebook I spent nearly $30 on a trilogy ebook!!  I needed to know what was in that bloody red room 😉  I haven’t bought a paperback since.

6. Favorite book of all time?
Nadine: That’s a mean question, same as picking your favorite child. I’ve a ‘all-time-fav’ shelf on GR but I guess I would say 50 Shades, cause this series made me start reading and Christian was indeed my very first book crush. You gotta love his kinky f@ckery 😉
Tamara: Oh, that’s a mean question!  Can I name a few??  I still have a special place in my heart for the 50 Shades trilogy especially since I discovered that without that book I would not have met Nadine and our blog would not exist.  I loved The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay, Motorcycle Man by Kristen Ashley, The Original Sinners series by Tiffany Reisz.

7. Coolest author you ever got to meet/work with?
Nadine: Sadly I haven’t met any yet (damn author events are all so far away) but I work closely with few authors and love them. The coolest for me are: Staci Hart (Good Gods Series), Harper Sloan (love this chick, she cracks me up), and Brooke Cumberland (such a sweetheart)
Tamara: Barbara Cutrera holds a special place in my heart because she was the first author I met through the blog and we have helped each other since and built a friendship;  Lola Stark is a wicked, wicked woman who I love – check out her debut book Tattered Love releasing in September; and lastly, Bella Jewel who has just released her debut novel Hell’s Knights – she let me design her countdown teaser pics and organise her release event and I have loved watching the success of her book so far!

8. Tell us about the woman (women) behind the mask? Err blog!
Nadine: Oh I see you want to know my ‘dirty side/secrets’ huh 😉 Well I’m not married have no kids yet- so yep I’m single. I’m pretty career focused right now and am pushing myself hard to achieve my goals (guess that’s the German gene in me). I’m very open-minded and love to connect with people, but I’m also very straight forward when something bothers me etc. I’m always down doing stupid/fun stuff haha… I can’t say no to puppy or lil kids begging eyes. I love Italian food and men too J I used to be a gym instructor and tortured people in my classes – that was a lot of fun and sometimes I miss it.
Tamara: Mmmm, you want something more than the standard answer right?!  Random stuff about me – collector of quotes, Pinterest addict (oh holy god, what a time suck this is but I can’t help myself!), tea drinker, mum going through the teenage years (and I thought the terrible twos were bad!), list maker, domestic goddess….ok, that last one is a lie!  I LOVE country music and if I ever come back in another life I hope that I am born in Nashville – there’s hot guys there that look like Keith Urban right??

9. Do you prefer a bunch of quick, sweet stand-alone reads or a long drawn out series of epic proportions?
Nadine: It totally depends on the series. I love trilogies and stand-alone’s equally. I’ve recently read some pretty awesome trilogies. I don’t like when a trilogy miraculously turns into a 5 book series or so; nope, don’t like that.
Tamara: I don’t really have a preference so long as there is a hot guy and a lot of steam  😉  I do have to admit though that I don’t like my books to be too short.  A series is good too but if there are cliffhangers then no more than three in the series and don’t release them too far apart because I can’t remember a lot of the details with all the books I read.  Mmm, and I thought I had no preference.

10. Last book you read and how did you rate it?
Nadine: I’ve got pretty lucky and got an ARC of Shooting Scars (The Artists Trilogy#2) by Karina Halle (which is btw my very favorite author of all times). This series, this book was pretty epic. She’s just brilliant and I can’t wait for the final book!!
Tamara: Truth by Aleatha Romig – 5 stars for me.  What an amazing book – you’ve got to read it!  But make sure you read the first one in the series Consequences.

11. Aside from reading, what else do you do with your time? Or, like us, do things book-related pretty much sum up your life?
Nadine: My studies consume most of my time but when I have some spare time I love to go to the movies or have dinner with friends. But most likely I sneak in a book that I had for a long time on my kindle and was dying to read 😉

12. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
Nadine: Somewhere tropical would be my choice. I love sun and beach; I could lay for hours on the beach doing nothing.
Tamara: Paris.  I’ve just always wanted to go there, can’t tell you why but I do.

13. If you could meet any author, who would it be?
Nadine: E.L. James because she hooked me on reading. I’ve read her 50 Shades book three times.
Tamara: Kristen Ashley!  She is my favourite author but I have a secret to tell you – I haven’t read all her books yet.  Yes, I know that seems weird and my bff who also loves KA can’t believe it but it’s a good feeling knowing that I’ve always got another one of her books left to read.  Yep, I never said it made sense 😉

14. If you could go on a date with any fictional male character, who would it be, from what book?
Nadine: Dex from the Experiment in Terror series or Camden from The Artists Trilogy, which both Karina Halle writes. Both are extremely hot, and a bit twisted in their own way. I love characters with edge; too perfect is boring cause who is perfect?
Tamara: You like these hard questions don’t you?!  Well, definitely Christian Grey (50 Shades) because it would be an epic date with no expense spared – Charlie Tango, anyone??  If I picked Gideon (Crossfire series) would there be a limousine involved??  If neither of them are available I will take Tack (Motorcycle Man) or Hawk (Mystery Man).

15. Who is a female character you could see yourself being best friends with?
Nadine: Hmm, that’s a tough question, but I would pick Aphrodite from Staci Hart’s Good Gods series. I love that she’s the goddess of love and she’s fun to be around.
Tamara: Maybe Tyra from Motorcycle Man.

16. Is there a fiction genre you just can’t seem to stand or get into?
Nadine: I agree [with Kassandra] on the heavy sci-fi but also too cheesy romance stories; I’m a bit bored of them.
Tamara: Good god, definitely NO sci-fi for me!  I am not into fantasy, ghosts or any of that kind of stuff…vampires are ok but they have been done to death haven’t they?

17. When we say favorite book cover, what’s the first one to come to mind – since we know there probably can’t be just one?
Nadine: Axel and Cage book of Harper Sloan (the original covers). They were pretty hot. But also the book cover of Get Bent; I love inked guys on a cover 😉

18. Were you The Quiet Girl Who Was Always Reading, or did you mainly just read at home in secret?
Nadine: Well I never read back in Germany so I was more the outgoing person. I used to do a lot of sports and do things with my dogs and friends.

19. Do you always read several books at once, or just stick to one at a time?
Nadine: I try to stick with only one, to give it my full attention and to be able to write a great review on it. I hate forgetting details or mixing things up.
Tamara: I prefer to just have one on the go but sometimes out of necessity for meeting review deadlines I have more than one.

20. Favorite book to movie adaptation?
Nadine: Totally 50 Shades, even though I’m afraid the movie won’t do the book justice.

Jennifer Trevino of Jeni’s Bookshelf, Reviews, Swag & More

Today, meet Jennifer Trevino of Jeni’s Bookshelf, Reviews, Swag & More!

1000056_282554341891307_279533110_n

5 Star Jeni's Reviews

1. Tell us a little about yourself!
Hmmm… well, I am a very happily married mother of four. I’ve been told I have an obsession with pictures as well as glittery things. I admit to one of those. =D I am a paranormal addict & lover of all things magical. I think I may qualify as a book hoarder, & may have passed this illness onto my mini me. Oh, I enjoy cooking, baking, & making all sorts of crafty things. I despise cleaning & the never ending laundry, & thus continue on my mission; endlessly searching for my ‘holy grail’, that magical wand to take care of all of that for me. And… Starbucks (or any equally delicious coffee) is the quickest way to get my attention! *wakes up*

2. What inspired you/caused you to start your book blog?
My author friends had been urging me to make one for awhile, but it was my pal K.B. Miller who completely surprised me by designing my blog for me then calling me up to tell me about it along with my log in info. My best friends know me so well!

3. What is your favorite part of running one?
My favorite part of running my blog would have to be all of the interaction with my favorite authors, & meeting others who enjoy the same books as I do. 🙂

4. What’s your favorite place and time to read? At home in bed at 2am? Out and about at a coffee shop?
At home in my bed before I go to sleep or in the early morning before everyone wakes up

5. Kindle or regular book? How did you feel about the Kindle to book transition? Did you fight it at first or dive right in?
I LOVE to have my favorites in print (which I keep safe on my top shelf where little hands can’t get ahold of them), but I’m not gonna lie… my Kindle is my bestie! I love being able to read in the dark without disturbing anyone by turning a light on. I love that I can easily carry hundreds of books anywhere I go without weighing my already too heavy purse, diaper bag, & other arsenal down. Finally, I love that I can actually afford to get so many of the books I crave, more than I would ever be able to afford to buy in print.

6. Favorite book of all time?
That is a ridiculously hard question! Hmmmmm…. I don’t know that I could pick just one.

7. Coolest author you ever got to meet/work with?
Such a hard choice once again! Can I just say, I love Facebook since I have been able to chat with so many so often, but I have my lil’ group of authors with whom I speak to on a daily basis & they feel like family. These would be K.B. Miller, Jennifer Malone Wright, Aneesa Price, Angela Orlowski-Peart, Willow Cross, & Julie Cassar.

8. Tell us about the woman (women?) behind the mask? Err blog!
For those who know me I’m pretty much an open book. For those who do not please see Question 1. 😀

9. Do you prefer a bunch of quick, sweet stand-alone reads or a long drawn out series of epic proportions?
Call me a sucker for “the fairytale”, but I want a never ending tale of epic proportions! For my favorite books as soon as I read ‘The End’ I’m immediately begging for more. I always love getting to see what happens further down the road in the lives of my favorite characters (as well as their kids, & their grandkids if I have my say in the matter. HA!!)

10. Last book you read and how did you rate it?
The Things We Can’t Change Part 2: The Struggle. 5 Stars (but only because that’s the allowed limit)!!!!!

11. Aside from reading, what else do you do with your time? Or, like us, do things book-related pretty much sum up your life?
When I am not reading, reviewing, running a street team, & blogging I can be found crafting, in my kitchen, or planning something. I love all things artsy crafty. I make lots of things for myself, family, friends, & for sale including: personalized jewelry & swag items, hair bows out of ribbon & flowers, baby shower gifts (diaper cakes, diaper wreaths, diaper babies, & Daddy Duty Belts), I knit (hats, baby cocoons, baby blankets, & headbands), I scrapbook, I enjoy planning fabulous themed birthday parties for my kids, & I have a passion for cooking & baking.

12. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I’ve always wanted to travel to Italy although seeing so many gorgeous destinations via the world wide web makes it hard to choose just one. I love Italy’s culture, scenery, & the food!

13. If you could meet any author, who would it be?
I’ve always had a crazy (some might call it an obsession) love for Stephen King.

14. If you could go on a date with any fictional male character, who would it be, from what book?
That list multiplies with so many amazing books I’ve read recently! LOLz I’m gonna go with one of my very first book crushes… Elliot from The Pulse of Heroes by A Jacob Sweeny.

15. Who is a female character you could see yourself being best friends with?
Corrine from Savior by Jennifer Malone Wright.

16. Is there a fiction genre you just can’t seem to stand or get into?
I will try to read just about anything except extreme violence, especially against kids. That is something that makes me cringe beyond words, & I just won’t read it.

17. When we say favorite book cover, what’s the first one to come to mind – since we know there probably can’t be just one?
You are correct in your assumption! 🙂 OK … Coffin Girls by Aneesa Price.

18. What was the series in childhood that got you hooked on reading?
I loved Goosebumps as well as many others, but that one sticks out since my go to genre for years was horror, Stephen King & Dean Koontz to be exact.

19. Were you The Quiet Girl Who Was Always Reading, or did you mainly just read at home in secret?
I was somewhere in between. When I would find a book I was passionate about then everyone would get to hear me rave about it.

20. Do you always read several books at once, or just stick to one at a time?
I normally like to read just 1 at a time unless I am reading a horror or a very emotional book then I may pick up another to read before bed.

21. Favorite book to movie adaption?
Breaking Dawn has been my most recent favorite although I do have a lot of fave movies as I do books! 🙂

Amanda Peake of Enchanted Endpapers

Today’s interview is with the amazing Amanda Peake of Enchanted Endpapers!

  1157539_613369912018245_1090535678_n

1010456_611410315547538_155770811_n

1. Tell us a little about yourself!
I love God, my family, my friends, and reading… pretty much in that order. I am me always have been. I love flip flops, pajamas, socks that keep my toes warm, sunshine, warm falls day, cool nights, pillows that stay cold, a great book, my children telling stories, my husband’s dreams and various other things. I have a great appreciation for my mother that I didn’t have as a teenager. I am an army wife, this doesn’t define me in any way yet it does explain me sometimes lol!
My current struggle in life is three types of cancer. Most of the time I’m kicking butt and takin’ names. I have my off days when all I want to do is curl up and ignore the world (except of those closest of course).

2. What inspired you/caused you to start your book blog?
I’ve gotten this before and the truth is I started this blog in response to lots of people encouraging me to do so. I had the one up at blogger for sometime. Then out of the blue an amazing friend of mine decided to design a website for me. Who would say no to that? So there is my none answer. Oh and I love reading and telling EVERYONE what I think about the books.

3. What is your favorite part of running one?
I honestly don’t know. I suppose the free range to express my thoughts.

4. What’s your favorite place and time to read? At home in bed at 2am? Out and about at a coffee shop?
My favorite place to read is anywhere. Seriously I will take books with me everywhere I go. I am a very social by nature so I’ll usually try to rope a few people into reading with me or at least talking books. Though I must say bed it’s comfy and there is nothing like falling to sleep with a good story in your head.

5. Kindle or regular book? How did you feel about the Kindle to book transition? Did you fight it at first or dive right in?
I have a Kindle that I love. That being said It’s wonderful for traveling or just getting a book quickly that I want to read. There is NOTHING in this world like the weight of a book in my hands after a stressful doctors visit or day. I still much prefer a regular book than my kindle. I still fight it. My kindle has overloaded itself on books a few times and had to be replaced. I’ve never known a book to do that with words.

6. Favorite book of all time?
I will without apology answer this honestly and that is the BIBLE. I have a feeling you want something else too so here goes. I have this quote on my twitter account that sums this answer up for me. I don’t have a favorite book I have hundreds. I’m not just saying that I get attached to a lot of characters and it becomes emotionally hard to let them go each time a series or book ends. I could tell you I fell in love with reading quite young when my mom gave me this book that spoke directly to my situation at the time it was a children’s book by Danielle Steel titled Maratha’s New School.

7. Coolest author you ever got to meet/work with?
I have a lot of author friends right now and would feel bad answering this question in fear of hurting someones feelings. I have so much respect for each one of them. I will mention two who have single handedly changed my view on the writing world. Megan Curd as she is known has taken on the role of friend to the max. She introduced me to this amazing group of Indie authors. Now I consider Megan one of my closest friends. Some days she’s more like a sister than anything else. Next would be Bella Roccaforte. This lady keeps me grounded on the worst of days and feeling loved everyday. She is one of the worlds best encouragers. If I could give the world a her I would. I’m just happy to be included in her life.

8. Tell us about the woman (women?) behind the mask? Err blog!
I thought I did that already. I’m thirty with a husband who is stationed at Fort….. and two sons who are under ten. I have three types of cancer and am a patient at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. When I’m not glowing from radiation and chemo I read books and play lots of games with my boys. I love the beach though living this close when I’m not suppose to go kinda bites. It’s been a TOUGH year but… things will get better.

9. Do you prefer a bunch of quick, sweet stand-alone reads or a long drawn out series of epic proportions?
EPIC PROPORTIONS PLEASE!!!

10. Last book you read and how did you rate it?
The last book I read was Legacy by HR Moore and the rating you will have to wait till I post the blog! 😉

11. Aside from reading, what else do you do with your time? Or, like us, do things book-related pretty much sum up your life?
I’ve answered this question above but.. Family and books that’s my life.

12. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I want to go on a family vacation to one of those underwater hotels or Atlantis. I think somewhere fun we could explore and laugh together without having to worry about doctors, army, and school would be GREAT.

13. If you could meet any author, who would it be?
I’m going to go with Megan Curd and Bella Roccaforte again. I’ve never met them in person and they have added so much to my life I just want to hug them both.

14. If you could go on a date with any fictional male character, who would it be and from what book?
Are you serious? I have to pick one? Do you know that’s impossible? I’m choosing Puck from the Iron Fey Series by Julie Kagawa. I think that date would be so much fun and not a lot useless wordy romance. Well also because Puck didn’t get the girl so I’d like to go on a friend date with him to see if I could be a wing-woman. LOL

15. Who is a female character you could see yourself being best friends with?
The question should be who I couldn’t see myself being friends with lol. Idk… That’s kinda of a toss up question some of the ones that come to mind would make great friends but not best friends. SIGH… Scout Donovan from Tammy Blackwell’s Timber Wolves Trilogy is a great one. I’m going with her.

16. Is there a fiction genre you just can’t seem to stand or get into?
Erotica is a no go for me for lots of reasons. I also don’t do heavy horror stories like serial killer stuff with a lot of unless suspense. I’m not a big fan of westerns unless they are in space.

17. When we say favorite book cover, what’s the first one to come to mind—since we know there probably won’t be just one?
Steel Lily by Megan Curd. It was literally the first time I’ve ever seen a book and had to find out more about it. This was way before I knew Megan btw.

18. What was the series in childhood that got you hooked on reading?
Babysitters Club, Sweet Valley, Little House on the Prairie, and anything by Judy Blume. I mostly ended up reading my mom’s old books or the ones she could find at thrift stores. I read the younger readers section of our library to fast.

19. Were you The Quiet Girl Who Was Always Reading, or did you mainly just read at home in secret?
Wow, I was neither. I was the loud mouth with a few close friends who knew everyone and they all knew I loved to read. I’m odd I guess.

20. Do you always read several books at once, or just stick to one at a time?
I used to be a one book kind of person but now I’ve got at least seven going and I know the plot of them all too.

Say hello to Lisah Stephens from Interpretations of a Part-Time Bibliophile!

1. Tell us a little about yourself!
I’m 35 years old and live in Kansas with my husband and 4 kids. During the day, I’m a payroll clerk/bookkeeper at an accounting firm. Recently, I became an apprentice editor for Final-Edits.com, which I absolutely love! My favorite color is purple. My favorite season is autumn. And I think it should be a requirement to eat chocolate at least once a day, if not more.

2. What inspired you/caused you to start your book blog?
I originally started with a Tumblr account, then I created a fan blog for one my favorite author duos, C.A. Kunz. Carol and Adam are great and I love them dearly. But I wanted to start blogging about other books I read. So, I started the Interpretations of a Part-Time Bibliophile.

3. What is your favorite part of running one?
Honestly, my favorite part is designing it. I love to discover different things to add to my blog and finding ways to make it better. I also love creating the post and making them interesting and fun to read.

4. What’s your favorite place and time to read? At home in bed at 2am? Out and about at a coffee shop?
Honestly, I could probably read just about anywhere. I tend to just zone-out to where it’s just me and my Kindle. Mostly, I read in my bed, whenever I find the time.

5. Kindle or regular book? How did you feel about the Kindle to book transition? Did you fight it at first or dive right in?
I like the convenience of my Kindle, but I also like to read print books too. I had no problems going from book to Kindle. As long as I can read it, I’m good.

6. Favorite book of all time?
I can’t believe you’re seriously asking that, I could no sooner pick a favorite star in the sky.

7. Coolest author you ever got to meet/work with?
I’ve only met a few, but Carol & Adam Kunz! I love them so much and they are by far the coolest!

8. Tell us about the woman (women?) behind the mask? Err blog!
I like to read YA/NA, Paranormal, Fantasy, and Dystopian books. My favorite TV series are Teen Wolf (can’t get enough Stiles and Isaac), Hemlock Grove (on Netflix), and Grimm (Nick… mmm). I love to watch movies with my family. I enjoy staying inside as opposed to being outside (the mosquitoes think I’m a buffet). My favorite holidays are Halloween and Christmas. Chocolate is my favorite food group!

9. Do you prefer a bunch of quick, sweet stand-alone reads or a long drawn out series of epic proportions?
I always seem to pick series, but I do like some stand-alones to break up the series a bit.

10. Last book you read and how did you rate it?
The last book I read was for a beta read on Mercy, which is book four of The Ferryman + The Flame series. I really liked it. I didn’t rate because it’s not released yet. But I’m definitely interested in reading the first three books of the series.

11. Aside from reading, what else do you do with your time? Or, like us, do things book-related pretty much sum up your life?
Well, when I’m not reading, I’m on Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads, my blog, watching TV or Netflix. But now that Teen Wolf is over I don’t have a lot to watch until the Fall shows come on!

12. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
That’s easy, Ireland! I’ve always wanted to go there. I’m convinced I was Irish in a former life.

13. If you could meet any author, who would it be?
This is a toughie. There are so many authors I’d like to meet. But for right now, I think it’d have to be Cassandra Clare because she responded to one of my tweets one time. And it was AWESOME!

14. If you could go on a date with any fictional male character, who would it be, from what book?
It has to be Tod Hudson from Rachel Vincent’s Soul Screamer series. Loved him from the get go, plus he can blink us anywhere. No need for a vehicle!

15. Who is a female character you could see yourself being best friends with?
Definitely Hermione Granger! I’d love to be best friends with her!

16. Is there a fiction genre you just can’t seem to stand or get into?
I don’t know, I haven’t read all of them. I tend to stay away from historical non-fiction, Christian, and romance.

17. When I say favorite book cover, what’s the first one to come to mind – since we know there probably can’t be just one?
Has to be Freak of Nature by Julia Crane. That’s one book I bought just because of the cover! It’s amazing!

18. What was the series in childhood that got you hooked on reading?
When I was a teenager, I read almost all of the books by Christopher Pike. But after that, I didn’t read for a really long time. The Harry Potter series is what got me back into reading…when I was like 30!

19. Were you The Quiet Girl Who Was Always Reading, or did you mainly just read at home in secret?
In school, I didn’t read much, so it was mostly at home.

20. Do you always read several books at once, or just stick to one at a time?
I usually just read one at a time, but sometimes, not often, I read more than one at a time.

21. Favorite book to movie adaption?
I have to say the Harry Potter series – all of them. Because I love both the books and the movies! But, honestly, Deathly Hallows Part 2 was absolutely epic!

Today we’re featuring Megan Hornyak from PaperBook Princess!

1. Tell us a little about yourself!

Hmm… what can I tell you about myself… I’m 27, married with 2 crazy cats. I live in Toronto, Ontario and althought I want to say that as a Canadian we don’t actually say ‘eh’ all the time, I’d be lying lol I say it ALL the time. I am also a HUGE hockey fan, specifically the LA Kings at the moment, but it’s more because my brother plays in the NHL (well hopefully is about to break into the league) that I like that team specifically.

2. What inspired you/caused you to start your book blog?
I have always been an avid reader but a year ago I started blogging about my books more as a way to help ME keep track I what I have read and what I liked or didn’t like… It snowballed however when I realized that I wasn’t just some giant nerd and hundreds of people blogged about books as well!

3. What is your favorite part of running one?
My Favorite part about running Paperbook Princess is all the AMAZING authors and bloggers I have met… I mean most of the books I read now are written by indie authors… I NEVER would have known about these books before I started blogging!

4. What’s your favorite place and time to read? At home in bed at 2am? Out and about at a coffee shop?
I don’t have a favorite time or place… basically if I have even 2 minutes I am pulling my phone out to read on my Kindle App… I can read anytime anywhere… even if it is only a few pages at a time.

5. Kindle or regular book? How did you feel about the Kindle to book transition? Did you fight it at first or dive right in?
I generally read Kindle simply because that is the easiest way to get all the books I want to read… I live in Canada so the books I tend to read aren’t all available in regular bookstores… but occasionally I do pick up a real book because well… nothing beats reading a book book!

6. Favorite book of all time?
Of all time? I would have to say Wings by Danielle Steele… or A Handmaiden’s Tale by Margaret Atwood… I have a hard time reading books more then once, but those 2 books I have read like hundreds of times!

7. Coolest author you ever got to meet/work with?
I met Cora Carmack a few months ago, that was super awesome! But I think the coolest ever is Michele G. Miller… I havent met her in person (yet!) but she is honestly so awesome and I love talking to her!

9. Do you prefer a bunch of quick, sweet stand-alone reads or a long drawn out series of epic proportions?
I LOVE my series… I will read standalone books because there are some pretty awesome ones, but I just love meeting the characters and following them around on their journey through whatever it is they are doing… and well you can’t really do that with just 1 book… you need multiple books!

10. Last book you read and how did you rate it?
Nemesis by S.A. Huchton… 5 STARS!!! it was SO AWESOME! I am honestly still recovering from it, that ending? WOW!

11. Aside from reading, what else do you do with your time? Or, like us, do things book-related pretty much sum up your life?
I read A LOT, but I also play slo-pitch in the summer when I can, and I spend as much time as I can with my niece and nephew… oh and hockey, winter is all about the hockey

14. If you could go on a date with any fictional male character, who would it be, from what book?
WOW! This is like the hardest question EVER, I have SO many book boyfriends, and it seems like every book I pick up I gain a new book boyfriend… ummm sooo I would want to go on a date with Russell from The Premonition Series…. Xavier from The Prophecy of Tyalbrook, Jhett from Promise Me This, Trace from Girl on Tour, uhhhh wow I could come up with a MILLION more probably but those are my main guys right now!

16. Is there a fiction genre you just can’t seem to stand or get into?
Erotica, lol… like Fifty Shades of Grey… yeah just totally not my thing, I keep thinking I should read it because everyone else has… but well… I just can’t…

18. What was the series in childhood that got you hooked on reading?
I didn’t read too much when I was younger, I started reading a lot when I was like preteen, and I think I started right in with Harelquin Romance… the American Romance ones, so it was just a whole lotta romance… I have ALWAYS been a sucker for a good HEA

19. Were you The Quiet Girl Who Was Always Reading, or did you mainly just read at home in secret?
I am STILL the quiet girl who is always reading! I can be in a huge crowd of people and I will stand there and just read lol, I don’t care who sees me or what people say! I love living in my books!

20. Do you always read several books at once, or just stick to one at a time?
I TRY to read just one book at a time, but sometimes I may have a book going on my phone, my Ppad, and a book book in my purse, sometimes I just can’t decide what I feel like reading so I like options!
